John William Godward Neo Classical Paintings

John William Godward  was a neo-classical period artist who was born in 1861 in Wimbledon. He was influenced by Sir Lawrence Alma Tadema. He is known as a pre-raphaelite era artist whose style was influenced by Picasso. His father was a clerk and his family was completely against his interest towards becoming an artist. He was the eldest child in his family. He left his home to pursue his career in art. At the age of 61, John committed suicide.
