Lev Lagorio is a famous Russian artist who belonged to the Romanticism movement. He was born on 9th November 1826 in Ukraine. His seascape paintings showed the real beauty of Russian art. He studied art in the Imperial Academy of Art in St.Petersburg. Lev was mostly influenced by the artist Ivan Aivazovsky. He went for a sea tour in 1845 to explore the nature of ships. later he spent several years in Italy and painted a series of oil paintings.
Lev Lagorio paintings can be called as the best example of “Romanticism”. He painted an array of seascape paintings of the shores of Norway and Finland. His works are exhibited in the state gallery of Moscow.
