Hans Dahl (1849- 1937) was a Norwegian artist who was specialized in painting Norwegian landscapes. When he was 16 years old, he exhibited his talent and it was only after his entry to the Swedish army he got his artistic education. He entered into a career as a lieutenant and he served the army until 1874.
The art of Hans Dahl was associated with the Dusseldorf painting school where he experimented detailed landscapes. He purposefully narrowed his line of subjects and he tried to outline the western landscapes with smiling people and brilliant sunshine.His landscape paintings were known for its appealing beauty and realistic look.
